Q: How do I find out what the TSN equivalent is for a different light steel framing manufacturer’s product?
A: The TSN product catalog section of our website is a great place to start, but we understand that the information can at times be overwhelming. The ideal thing to do is to call us at 888-474-4876 so we can have our team of experts help you determine the equivalent product. Clark Dietrich, Marino, Simpson, and Scafco all have versions of some of our clips, so let us know the part number and we’ll give you all the information you need for the corresponding TSN product.
Q: How do I determine the tolerances and limitations for TSN members and connectors?
A: TSN technical product catalogs were designed to give the industry every detail about the specification of our products, including allowable loads and even how many fasteners must be used. However, we recognize that unusual jobsite requirements call for opportunities to “think outside the box”, and sometimes the answer even lies in custom solutions. Our technical staff can help you answer all these questions, including the tolerances, loads, and even the development of custom solutions for your light steel framing project.
Q: I don’t understand some of these products. How do I know if they are a good fit for my project?
A. We are always researching and developing new products. As a result, we have some pretty unique light steel framing products, but we’re always happy to explain them. Q: This strange jobsite condition doesn’t match any of the products in your catalog. What do I do?
A: Sometimes during the course of a job, you will stumble upon some unexpected conditions that don’t exactly fit the mold for standard connections. Call one of our light steel framing experts, describe the problem at hand, and if we can’t make one of our standard products work, then we will guide you through TSN’s process of designing and manufacturing a custom light steel framing connector solution.
Q: I am new to the light steel framing industry, where do I start learning how to design cold-formed steel framing?
