L e Meridian

The Le Meridien/ Marriott AC is a dual-brand hotel in downtown Denver. It is the first hotel in the area to combine two different hospitality enterprises under one roof, Starwood’s Le Meriden and Marriott’s AC hotel. By eliminating a separate tower/structure for each brand, it allows guests to share attractive amenities, like meeting rooms, swimming pools, and fitness centers.

This 22-story, pre-finished curtainwall panel project was designed and constructed through collaboration with FDR Engineers, LLC and South Valley Prefab. The panelized frames are supported by TSN’s by-pass framing DriftTrak® components.

DriftTrak® simplified the panel installation on this project by allowing installers to easily twist DriftTrak® bypass clips onto the preinstalled DriftTrak® as each prefabricated wall panel was hoisted into position by crane. This process helped to ensure a quick and easy alignment of the studs for structural attachment before the crane was unlocked from each panel.

Additionally, StiffClip® LS provided additional labor savings by eliminating shims and scabs, while the guide holes in StiffClip® CL and the pre-installed step-bushings in VertiClip® SLS provided installers with increased efficiency for an exceptionally streamlined install.

SteelSmart® System was utilized by FDR Engineers to design the light steel framing curtainwall components.
