Steel Framing Used to Construct Energy-Efficient Senior Housing

A new 3-story, 101-suite assisted living and memory care community, Chelsea at Greenburgh, in Greenburgh, N.Y., was constructed on an abandoned retail site and opened to residents in December 2020.

The 90,651-square-foot housing community was designed with sustainable materials containing a significant amount of recycled content, such as steel, metal studs and drywall. The project is currently awaiting LEED certification.
