SFIA 10 Year Anniversary logoDescription

In this 1-hour webinar we will use building science principles to illustrate how cold-formed steel (CFS) framed assemblies can achieve project performance requirements. Specific emphasis will be made to fire resistance, acoustics, structure, and moisture resistance.

Participants will explore the inherent fire resistance of CFS frame assemblies, using ASTM test standards. We will investigate how the principles of acoustical performance combine to provide high Sound Transmission Classification (STC) assemblies.

We will discuss the basic structural procedures to design and detail a simple non-structural CFS assembly and we will envision the required steps to control moisture migration in a CFS framed assembly.

This course is registered with AIA CES and participants will earn 1 HSW LU. Credit(s) earned on completion of this course will be reported to AIA CES for AIA members.
