Nomenclature
StiffClip JH is designated by listing the joist depth in inches, followed by the inside flange dimension in inches x 100 (2” flange is standard, and will also service 1 ⅝” flange), and the required clip thickness in mils that will accommodate anticipated loads.
Example: 6” joist, 2” flange, 2,250 lbs. load
Designate: StiffClip® JH600x200-68

StiffClip® JH Applications
The unique design of MasterClip allows it to be installed either as a vertical deflection connection or a rigid connection. Attachment to the primary structure may be made with a PAF, screw/bolt anchors, or weld and is dependent upon the base material (steel or concrete) and the design configuration.
Joist Connection to Steel Beam

Load Table Notes:
- Design loads are for attachment of StiffClip JH to joist only. Load tables reflect vertical loads (F3).
- StiffClip JH resists vertical loads and web crippling.
- Design loads are based on clip capacity and allowable shear of joist section.
- Screw size and quantity shown is required for StiffClip JH to serve as a joist web stiffener.
- If joist web is larger than clip height then use blocking behind clip for support.
- Allowable loads have not been increased for wind, seismic, or other factors.
- Screws, powder actuated fasteners, or weld attachment may be used to oconnect StiffClip JH to steel headers or beams. StiffClip JH-68 and heavier can be welded to a supporting steel beam. Powder actuated fasteners into steel are recommended to be 0.157″ diameter, and are limited to a maximum of 3/4″ subtrate thickness.
